Nathan grew up on a farm in eastern Southland and worked on the land in a variety of jobs, from the shearing shed to beekeeping, before getting his law and arts degrees at the University of Otago.

He started his career in Christchurch before spending seven years working for a London City firm where, as a partner, he was involved in corporate, commercial and project finance transactions ranging up to £200 million.

Nathan returned to Dunedin in 2008 to combine his legal experience with his long term interest in agribusiness and the primary sector.

“Having a level of knowledge about my client's business helps me understand them better. I enjoy getting out of the office and visiting clients whether their business is in town or the country,” he says.  With over a decade of serving clients in the primary sector, Nathan walks the talk.

“I like the contact with people from all walks of life and the challenge of dealing with issues my clients’ need resolved.”

Outside work Nathan likes to visit his forest block (with his chainsaw) and enjoys taking it easy with his two sons.  Nathan is also the chair of the Board of the Ice Sports Stadium Dunedin.
