Lucy Doherty

Senior Solicitor

Lucy is a member of our commercial team, having involvement in a variety of corporate, commercial, and property matters.

After graduating with a post-graduate Psychology qualification and spending the better part of two years working and travelling abroad, Lucy returned to Otago University to complete her law degree. She then spent three and a half years practising in Invercargill with a large South Island firm, specialising in commercial and property law. Lucy and her family returned to Dunedin and Lucy joined Gallaway Cook Allan in 2015.

Lucy relishes being part of a vibrant and busy commercial team and says “it is incredibly motivating to work amongst smart people with a high level of expertise, and in a firm that is so encouraging of balancing hard work with life outside of the office”.  She enjoys building relationships with clients and taking a pragmatic approach to helping them achieve their business goals.

Lucy is a mother to two “spirited” young children, and wife to Tim, an agri-banker with longstanding family ties to the Otago region. Lucy loves running and keeping fit in the gym, enjoying good food and wine with family and friends, holidays at the beach in Golden Bay, and has a vege garden that is an ongoing work in progress.
