As part of our Resource Management Team, Gus is involved in a wide array of local and regional environmental planning and consenting processes. He has appeared at Council, Environment Court and High Court level and has experience with mediation, fast track consenting and judicial review processes. Gus is comfortable embracing new and changing environments and people, having been born in the USA before growing up in the UK and ultimately finding his way to Dunedin in 2013.

Gus enjoys diving deeply into an issue and delivering pragmatic solutions to complex problems. He values the legal and scientific crossover in Resource Management, having completed a degree in Zoology.

Gus has a particular interest in charitable and community initiatives. Outside of work, Gus is the Chair of Te Tautiaki Hoiho/Yellow-Eyed Penguin Trust and volunteers at Community Law. He prides himself on supporting initiatives including Relay for Life, Wild Dunedin Festival of Nature and Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

Gus has recently graduated in level 1 and 2 Te Ara Reo Māori (He Pī ka Pao) through Te Wananga o Aotearoa. Gus has completed two marathons and is a devoted fan of Arsenal Football Club.
