Wade Pearson

Wade works with clients on a range of commercial matters, including contracts, intellectual property, capital raising, construction and technology law.  Wade grew up in Dunedin and likes to help local and national businesses achieve their goals.

Wade enjoys working with clients in a clear, practical manner, and focuses on understanding the key issues for his clients' businesses.  "Empathy is the key for me - I work to really understand my clients and their issues, so I can help them get what they need" he says. He strives to write and communicate in a clear, straightforward style.

Before joining Gallaway Cook Allan in 2018, Wade worked at MinterEllisonRuddWatts in Wellington where he worked with a wide range of clients - especially in the technology and startup sectors.  Wade has also spent time within organisations that help SMEs and other businesses to grow and succeed internationally (including Viclink and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise).

Wade is the chair of Startup Dunedin, a charitable trust that works to support and grow Dunedin's startup ecosystem.  He graduated from the University of Otago in 2013 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (Language and Linguistics).

Away from work, Wade enjoys spending quality time with his wife and toddler and occasionally relaxing with a good book, boardgame or videogame.
